All contestants who enclose a SASE or e-mail address will receive an expert in-depth analysis of their script.
Winning contestant's logline and synopsis will be posted for 6 months on the Inktip Website ( password protected website is seen by hundreds of Industry professionals). Also, logline will be included in websites' magazine.
The winning contest entry will receive a one year's subscription to Scr(i)pt Magazine. And be posted on MOVIEBYTES website.

30th ANNIVERSARY MONTHLY SCREENWRITING CONTEST FORM
1. I request that you read and evaluate my application and submitted material for the Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute's Monthly Competition. I am sole owner and author of all submitted materials and have full right and authority to submit said materials to you. If more than one party signs this Agreement as the submitting party, then referenced to "I" and "me" throughout this Agreement shall apply to each party, jointly and severally.
2. I recognize that you, the Competition Judges, and your affiliates have wide access to ideas, stories, and other literary materials and that new ideas are constantly being submitted to and/or developed by you, the Competition judges, and/or your affiliates. I also recognize that many stories and ideas are similar and often different stories and ideas relate to one or more common underlying themes.
3. I understand that you will not use the submitted material or any part of the material except in connection with Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute's Monthly Competition unless you either; a) enter into an agreement with me granting you the right to use the material; or b) determine in good faith that I do not own or control the material, or any features or elements in the material because the material or features or elements were independently developed by someone other than me, are in the public domain, or are not new or novel;
c) the material was created and is owned free and clear of all other interests only by me; or d) I have full right to submit the Material to you and to comply with this Agreement. I will fully reimburse you if you incur any losses, damages, or expenses ( including lawyers fees) because any or all of the statements made in this release form are not true, as a result of your having or using the Material.
4. I have retained at least one copy of the submitted material, and I understand that the submitted copies will not be returned to me.
5. I recognize that you or anyone connected with the Competition have access to or have created literary materials and ideas which may be similar to the material submitted here-under in theme, idea, plot, format or other respects. I agree that I will not be entitled to any compensation because of the use of any such similar or identical material which may have been independently created by you or anyone connected to the Competition from any other independent source.
6. I hereby grant to Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute the non-exclusive right to use my name, photograph and likeness in connection with any and all publicity and promotional activities regarding the Competition.
7. I understand and agree that Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute's Monthly Competition may decide to increase or decrease the number of awards granted or offer no awards, at it's sole discretion.
8. I understand that under no circumstances will my submission fee be returned to me.
9. I have read and understand this agreement. No oral representation of any kind have been made to me and this agreement states our entire understanding.
10. This agreement is governed by and constructed under the laws of the State of California, and may not be altered

30th ANNIVERSARY MONTHLY SCREENWRITING CONTEST
CONTEST RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
-The screenplay competition is open to writers who have not earned money writing for television or film.
-Submissions must be full length feature films or one hour teleplays.
-Screenplays or teleplays must not have been optioned or sold at the time of submission but may be submitted to other people thereafter.
-Screenplays/teleplays must be the original work of the applicant(s). If based upon the work of another's life story, applicant(s) must attach a statement attesting to their rights to make such adaptations. Neither the competition nor its judges investigates or attests to the authenticity of an applicant's statement of authorship rights.
-Applicants must accept without reservation the decision rendered by the contest judges. HSI is a for profit institution.
-A submission may involve two or more writers as applicants. Division of the award will be the sole responsibility of the winners.
-Screenplays/teleplays must be submitted in English.
-Screenplays must be between 90 and 130 pages in length. Teleplays must be between 50 and 70 pages in length.
-Synopsis must be from l to 3 pages double spaced.
-No substitutions or corrections may be made after the script has been submitted.
-The script should be in U.S. Motion Picture Industry standard in master scene script format. (Follow standard industry guidelines for format or consult any popular or library scriptwriting text for assistance).
-Pages should be three-hole punched and bound by two brads. Card stock (heavier paper) covers are required. Pages must be numbered.
-Scripts postmarked by the 15th of each month are eligible for the following month's contest (6 weeks from the deadline date). They will be judged by Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute judges, instructors and director. All decisions are final. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to protect their screenplays by registering with the WGAw. the telephone number is: (323) 95l-4000; or WGAe, (212) 767-7800; or US Copyright Office, 202) 707-3000 or registered with the US Post office.
-More than one screenplay/teleplay may be submitted; however, each screenplay/teleplay screenplay must be accompanied by a separate Application Form, Synopsis and entry fee.
-Both screenplays/teleplays and synopsis must include author's name, address and phone number.
-If you would like acknowledgement that your script has been received please send your package Certified, return receipt requested.
-Entry fee can be a money order, credit card or check.
-Scripts received without completed Application, Release Form, Synopsis and entry fee will automatically be disqualified without notification.
-The winning contestant will be notified by letter and by seeing it on Moviebytes.
-Winner will receive subscription to Scr(i)pt Magazine.
- You may receive a brief, in-depth analysis of your contest entry script from the Contest Judging Staff by submitting a SASE, if no e-mail address is provided.
The act of submitting my Application Form, Release Form, Script and Synopsis constitutes acceptance without reservation of all rules and requirements of Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute and the decision rendered by its judges.
